  • 2m³ mini skip: about 8 wheelie bins, or 2 box trailer loads. The one most people grab for a weekend job, a small bathroom strip out, or a few loads of green waste.
  • 3m³ mini skip: about 12 wheelie bins, or 3 box trailer loads. Good for a bigger garden clean up or a single room declutter.

If you are stuck between two sizes, the cheaper move is almost always to go one size up. A bin that is too small means a second hire and a second delivery fee, which costs more than the little bit of extra room would have.

Walk-In Skips: No Lifting Over the Wall

From 3m³ up to 17m³, our walk-in skips have a ramp and a door, so you wheel the waste straight up and in rather than heaving it over the side. That is a real help on renovations with heavy mixed waste, garden jobs where you can barrow it straight up the ramp, and any job where you are moving fridges, lounges or mattresses on your own. A Quick Word on Heavy Waste

Concrete, brick, soil and rubble are heavy, so they go in our smaller heavy waste bins rather than the big walk-in ones. It is a weight thing, not a size thing: a large bin full of concrete is too heavy to lift safely and legally onto the truck. If your load is mostly rubble, we will point you to the right heavy waste bin when you book.

What You Can and Cannot Put in the Skip

Most everyday waste is fine. You can load general household junk, green and garden waste, soil and rocks, bricks, concrete and tiles, building materials and timber, tree stumps and branches, and old flooring or carpet. A couple of items carry a small surcharge because of how they are disposed of: tyres are $25 each, and mattresses or ensemble bases are $80 each.

A few things cannot go in a skip, by law or for safety. Please keep out food and other putrescible waste, nappies and pet litter, liquids such as paint, oils and chemicals, and gas bottles or fire extinguishers. Most of these have local drop off points, and we are happy to point you in the right direction.

Asbestos is a special case. Ezi-Bin does not run an asbestos service and it cannot go loose in a skip. If you think you have asbestos, cement sheeting or old insulation, get in touch before you book. We will help you get it handled the right way through a licensed removalist and point you to SafeWork NSW, so it is dealt with safely rather than ending up somewhere it should not.

Rather than a headline figure that leaves out the tip fees, we give you a fixed, all in price before the bin is delivered, so you know exactly what you are paying. Standard hire runs for 4 days, and if you need the bin longer you can extend at $20 a day. A couple of items carry a set surcharge: tyres at $25 each and mattresses or ensemble bases at $80 each. When you are comparing quotes around Penrith, always read the fine print, because a low advertised price often does not include the disposal costs that get added later. For a whole home clean out, a big renovation or a deceased estate, an 8m³ or 10m³ walk-in skip gives you plenty of room. Builders and commercial sites moving high volumes of lighter waste tend to want the 13m³ to 17m³ builders’ bins. If your load is mostly concrete, brick or soil, you will go in a smaller heavy waste bin instead, because weight matters more than volume there. Not sure? Standard hire is 4 days, which is enough for most jobs to be loaded without any rush. Plenty of weekend clean ups and single room renos are done well inside that window. If your job is going to run longer, a staged renovation, a big garden overhaul or a build that depends on the weather, you can extend the hire at $20 a day, so you keep the bin for as long as you actually need it. There is no pressure to fill it in a hurry or to squeeze everything in before a collection truck turns up. When you are finished, let us know and we will come and collect it. If you already know your job will take a week or two, just tell us when you book and we will sort the timing out with you upfront.
