Unsure what size skip bin you need?

Picking the right skip size is the difference between paying for empty space you never fill and running out of room halfway through the job. The good news is it is not complicated, and if you are ever unsure you can call us and we will size it for you in a two minute chat.

Ezi-Bin is a local family business, and we carry the full range: mini skips for a weekend tidy-up right through to large builders’ bins for a full renovation or a commercial site. We deliver across Penrith, the Blue Mountains and the Hawkesbury, drop the bin where you need it, and collect it when you are done.

Quick capacity guide:

  • 2m³ mini skip: about 8 wheelie bins, or 2 loads of a 6ft x 4ft box trailer.
  • 3m³ mini skip: about 12 wheelie bins, or 3 box-trailer loads.
  • 4m³ skip: about 16 wheelie bins, or 4 box-trailer loads.
  • 6m³ skip: about 24 wheelie bins, or 6 box-trailer loads.
  • 8m³ walk-in skip: about 32 wheelie bins, or 8 box-trailer loads.
  • 10m³ walk-in skip: about 40 wheelie bins, or 10 box-trailer loads.
  • 13m³ builders’ bin: about 52 wheelie bins, or 13 box-trailer loads.
  • 15m³ builders’ bin: about 60 wheelie bins, or 15 box-trailer loads.
  • 17m³ builders’ bin: about 68 wheelie bins, or 17 box-trailer loads.

Mini skips: for a tidy-up or a small job

2m³ mini skip. Our smallest bin, and the one most people grab for a weekend job. It holds about 8 wheelie bins or 2 box-trailer loads, and suits a few green-waste loads, a small bathroom strip-out, or a garage tidy-up. Good where space is tight and you just need the clutter gone.

3m³ mini skip. A step up at about 12 wheelie bins or 3 box-trailer loads, for a bigger garden clean-up, a single-room declutter, or the offcuts from a light renovation. Still compact enough to fit on a standard driveway, with a bit more room to work with.

Mini skips are the go for households and tight sites where access is limited and you want the bin in and out without fuss.

Mid-size skips: for a full room or a decent clear-out

4m³ skip. The middle ground at about 16 wheelie bins or 4 box-trailer loads. Suits a full room renovation, a proper household clear-out, or a job that is a bit much for a mini but does not need a builders’ bin.

6m³ skip. Our most popular mid-size at about 24 wheelie bins or 6 box-trailer loads, for bigger clear-outs and renovations where you have bulky or high-volume waste and would rather do it in one bin than swap a smaller one twice. Fewer swaps, less mucking about.

Walk-in skips: no lifting over the wall

From 3m³ up to 17m³, our walk-in skips have a ramp and a door, so you wheel the waste straight up and in rather than heaving it over the side. That makes a real difference on the jobs where lifting is the hard part:

  • Renovations and clean-outs: heavy mixed waste you do not want to lift over a wall.
  • Garden and green waste: wheelbarrow straight up the ramp and tip it in.
  • White goods and furniture: fridges, washers, lounges and mattresses walked in, not hoisted.
  • Solo jobs: when there is no second person around to help lift.

If your job involves anything heavy or awkward, or you are working on your own, a walk-in bin is worth it for the ramp alone.

Large and builders’ bins: for the big jobs

8m³ and 10m³. Big household clear-outs, a whole-home renovation, a deceased estate, or an office strip-out. The 8m³ holds about 32 wheelie bins and the 10m³ about 40, so there is plenty of room for multiple rooms’ worth of waste in one go.

13m³, 15m³ and 17m³ builders’ bins. Our largest bins, from about 52 up to 68 wheelie bins, built for construction sites, big builds and commercial jobs with high volumes of lighter waste. These need clear space for delivery, so tell us about access when you book and we will make sure it fits.

A quick word on heavy waste

Concrete, brick, soil and rubble are heavy, so they go in our smaller heavy-waste bins rather than the big walk-in ones. It is a weight thing, not a size thing: a large bin full of concrete is too heavy to lift onto the truck safely and legally. If your load is mostly heavy material, tell us when you book and we will put you in the right bin. We have dedicated bins for concrete and brick, concrete and soil, and hardcore waste.

How long do you get the bin for?

Standard hire is 4 days, which covers most jobs comfortably. If you need longer, you can extend at $20 a day, so there is no rush to fill it if the job runs on.

Still not sure? Size up, not down

If you are stuck between two sizes, the cheaper mistake is almost always to go one size up. Ordering a bin that is too small means a second hire, a second delivery fee and a job that drags on. A little extra room in one bin is cheaper than doing it twice. And if you genuinely cannot pick, that is what we are here for: give us a rough idea of the job and we will tell you exactly what will fit.
